Information about booking an ADHD assessment

Booking an ADHD Assessment

The waiting list for new ADHD assessments and reassessments is closed

We hope to be able to provide information about when our waiting list will reopen by June 2025.

Please check the website for updates rather than contacting the service as we are extremely busy with our current case load. Many thanks for your patience.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BOOK AN ASSESSMENT / REASSESSMENT APPOINTMENT USING THE ONLINE SYSTEM.

People who have never been seen by Dr Peter Mason ADHD & Psychiatry Services will be placed on a waiting list and contacted within two months of an appointment becoming available.

Prior to making your appointment it is important to discuss your booking for an ADHD assessment with your GP. Your GP is the most important healthcare professional involved in your care, as they collate all information about your medical history and co-ordinate your care with other services. Dr Mason will need to collaborate with your GP for prescribing, and if investigations such as ECG’s are needed.

A referral from your GP would be preferred. Referrals can be sent by secure email to info@adultadhdliverpool.co.uk or by post to:

Please be aware that we specialise solely in ADHD assessments for adults. We do not carry out assessments for Autism.

ADHD Assessment Pricing

The cost of an appointment depends on the type of appointment required. If you are uncertain about which appointment is right for you, please email us at info@adultadhdliverpool.co.uk or telephone 07305 963230.

We do not offer a titration service for those who have received an ADHD assessment from another provider.

Standard Assessment
£500.00

A standard assessment will take up to 1 ½ hours. Dr Mason will take a psychiatric and developmental history.  You will have an opportunity to raise any questions you have about ADHD and any concerns about your mental health.

To improve the reliability of the assessment it would be helpful to bring somebody who knows you well to the assessment, especially if they can remember you as a child. It is also helpful to bring any old school reports that you may have.

If a diagnosis of ADHD and/or other mental health problems are made an intervention plan will be discussed and treatment offered.

Assessment Plus
£800.00

An assessment plus will take up to 2 ½ hours and consists of the standard assessment plus the use of a semi-structured interview (DIVA or ACE+).

These assessments are necessary for certain groups of people such as athletes who need approval (Therapeutic Use Exemption: TUE) to use a prohibited substance for the purpose of the UK Anti-doping regulations.

An informant (somebody who knew you as a child) is essential for these assessments.
